Panasonic Cameras belongs to the Panasonic Corporation, a Japanese multi-national company, that is engaged in the manufacture of electronics.Founded by Konosuke Matsushita, Panasonic Corporation was originally called Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd., and it was a vendor of duplex lamp sockets before going into radios, appliances, bicycles and then moving to the US markets in 1961. Today Panasonic offers electronics products such as televisions and semi-conductors and non-electronic products such as home renovation services among others. In the Panasonic cameras brands Lumix is the digital camera brand. The Lumix brand has point-and-shoot models and the digital SLRs. Panasonic Lumix models are equipped with the German made Leica lenses. Panasonic manufactures both the Lumix brand and the Leica brand of cameras. Panasonic also came up with the prototype for a planned 3D Lumix camera with twin 4x zoom lenses with folding optics and optical image stabilization. Panasonic cameras are well known and popular cameras across the world.
