HCL Laptops belong to the HCL group, a global technology and IT Enterprise based in India. The HCL group comprises of two companies HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystems. HCL was one of the pioneers of the IT hardware market in India and had a joint venture with HP initially. After the joint venture was ended HCL became a holding company with HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystems as its companies to operate in the Indian and global markets. HCL currently has three verticals - Computer Systems, Telecommunication & Office Automation and Internet and related services. The Computer Systems, products and services vertical comprises of manufacturing of computer hardware systems, Systems Integration, and Infrastructure Management solutions in industry verticals. In the laptop division HCL has unveiled a next generation, ultra portable, sub Rs.14,000/- laptops for the first time in India.
