Nokia Oyj, a Finnish communications and information technology corporation headquartered in Finland and one of the leading manufacturers of mobile phones in the world, is engaged in the manufacture of mobile phones and portable IT devices. Nokia also develops applications, games, music, media and messaging, free-of-charge digital map information and navigation services which it provides through its mobile phone services. Nokia employs around 122,000 employees across 120 countries, has sales in more than 150 countries and has annual revenues of around €38 billion. It is the world’s second largest mobile phone maker after Samsung, and has a market share of 22.5% . Nokia was originally the world largest vendor of mobile phones from 1998 to 2012 but suffered a loss of market share as a result of the growing use of Smartphones such as Apple’s iphone.
