About Onida televisions
Onida is an Indian company based in Mumbai. The company started in 1981 and has been engaged in the assembly and production of television sets. Started by G.L. Mirchandani and Vijay Mansukhani, Onida has since those early days become a multi-product company in the consumer durables and appliances. Now the Onida product range includes ACs, microwave ovens, washing machines, music systems, home theatres and other electronic goods. In televisions Onida has the following range of products - LCD TVs, Plasma TVs, Conventional TVs, LED TVs, LCD TVs and others. Onida captured;
the imagination of the Indian retail market with an unconventional and catchy advertising campaign where the Onida televisions were shown as being the ‘Neighbour’s envy, Owner’s pride’. Mirc Electronics also won an “Award for Excellence in Electronics� in 1999, from the Indian Government, Ministry of Information Technology. Onida sells its televisions in the Gulf countries, Russia, Ukraine and CIS countries. Onida was ranked 34th in the Most Trusted Brands in India according to the Brand Trust Report.
